Greetings, from Mrs. Emily, I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. And Bodie, is my Therapy Dog In Training, AKA ‘Calm Helper’ well at least some days…  He helps normalize feelings, gets our bodies moving for ‘Walks and Talks,’ and brings a great deal of love and humor into our sessions.

In my work with children, parents, and young adults -  I strive to create a heartfelt and connected environment where you can feel free to share your challenges with acceptance, empathy, and validation.  My hope is for you to meet your goals, through understanding, psycho-education, and empowering healthy changes.  And along the way using nature and Animal Assisted Social Work for healing.  I’m a strong believer in hope and resilience of the human spirit, and healing can occur for families/individuals if they are believed in, build positive connections, and provided with professional guidance.

My experience ranges from Wilderness Therapy working with teens to being an Early Childhood Consultant in the Pacific Northwest. I utilize a variety of evidenced based practices (CBT, ART, PCIT) helping to improve overall functioning and I have a proven track record of building genuine rapport and empowering families to make healthy changes.

From Parents:

“At our first visit with Emily, I could already tell we were going to make great strides.”

“Our son has come so far in the last months, but more than that, I’ve come so far! My husband and I have the tools needed to practice/improve our parenting skills.”

I have experience working with children with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities as well as behavioral disturbances. I also have worked with adults of all different backgrounds with most of my recent time being spent working in assessment and crisis therapy in an ER. I also have a special interest in helping postpartum mothers navigate this transition as well as enjoy working with mother's in general.

Regardless of your need, my biggest goal is to make a real human connection and support individuals wherever they may be so that I can assist them in getting to where they would like to be, or help them discover what that may look like for them. I believe therapy can ultimately be beneficial for anyone who seeks to grow themselves and can be life changing.

My therapeutic style is grounded in empathy, compassion, and mutual respect, drawing heavily from the Rogerian tradition. I believe that healing begins within a safe and trusting relationship, where clients feel truly seen and heard. When that space is created, it opens the door to meaningful self-exploration, growth, and transformation.

I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), existential therapy, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. This flexibility allows us to focus on your strengths and values while addressing the obstacles that may be holding you back.

As a fully licensed clinical therapist and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable. I offer a calm, approachable presence nonjudgmental environment. Often, it’s in the smallest moments that the most profound breakthroughs occur, and I am honored to support you in discovering those insights and moving toward the life you envision.
